Self Pack and Load, Door to Door (FCL Only)

One of the ways to save money is to do more of the work yourself. If you are ready and willing to pack and load the container yourself, this option can save quite a bit of money. This option is only available for an exclusive use container (FCL) and household goods only (not motor vehicles, building supplies, or other commodities).

The container stays on the chassis (trailer), which is about 4 feet above the ground.

In this case, the cargo can only be covered for total loss only (not loss or damage to individual pieces).

For delivery, we will usually include a crew to unload the cargo, (simply because there is very little difference in cost on delivery in Israel).

In most cases, we won’t know where we are delivering to until after we have done the pick-up. In that case, we will make some standard assumptions about access. Once you know the exact delivery address, let us know. If we know at the time of quoting, we can account for any concerns at destination (like access) specific to your new home here.

Door to Door Self Pack and Load Includes:

  • Personalized help with all paperwork throughout the process
  • Secured pick-up date
  • Placement of container, on chassis, in a legal parking place (time limit for loading varies from 3 hours to 3 days depending on location and cost)
  • Transport to port of Exit
  • Export Customs Release Procedures and Paperwork
  • Local Port Fees and THC
  • Ocean Freight and Current Surcharges
  • Local Port Fees and Standard Local Charges (Delivery Order, THC, Charges by the Port Company and Ship Line Agent. For LCL, Standard Bonded Warehouse Charges)
  • Sales Tax and/or VAT on services as required by law
  • Import Customs Release Procedures and Paperwork
  • Delivery to your home
  • Unloading of boxes and furniture and placement in the rooms you instruct us
  • Return of container

Not Included in Door to Door Self Pack and Load

  • These required things you must do: Packing, Loading, Materials, Packing List including piece count
  • Marine Insurance
  • Storage and Demurrage (Late Container Return Fee) as follows (If you want or need storage, let us know as early as possible to review options and charges):

FCL Shipments have virtually no free storage. You must be in Israel and get us the paperwork before the container arrives, and you must be ready to receive the cargo right away. Our quote includes up to 7 calendar days from Ship’s Arrival to Delivery (It usually takes Customs up to 7 days to release a container of household goods).

  • Customs/security Inspection (if applicable)
  • Electric ladder, crane, difficult access (more than 20 meters from truck to front door or more than 2 flights by foot.)
  • Customs duties, force majeure, war, strike or congestion related fees
  • Reassembly of furniture, installation of appliances
  • Piano, safe or heavyweight handling, handling of non-household goods.
  • Unpacking of Boxes
  • Removal of Gross Debris
